About Me

I am a half Latina woman (Dad is from the States and Mom is Barranquilla, Colombia, South America)  who was born in the Boston, Massachusetts area  and lived there until I was almost five years old. I grew up in the Tampa, Florida vicinity for over 20 years and currently resides in the North Florida/South Georgia region. I am the oldest of three girls.

I received a life-saving heart/double lung transplant over 20 years ago (June of 1996) at the tender age of 16 due to advanced stages of Eisenmenger's Syndrome and Pulmonary Hypertension. My transplant was performed at St. Louis Children's Hospital in Missouri.

I am an active member within the transplant community and more than happy to talk with those on the waiting list or newly transplanted. I offer advice and insight into what lies ahead in the post-transplant world. I entered the transplant community as a teenager and am now in my mid-late 30s so I can relate to both the youth and adults.
